I just realized....
Every day, we're working ourselves into the people we will become. So basically we have every moment now to work ourselves into joyful old people rather than grumpy old people.
Hee hee...I think blogging makes me more joyful somehow. It's just fun to share...even if I don't know who I'm sharing it with.
So far I've mostly blog about the good days. I should blog about the bad moments some too. But one thing - the good philosophies still hold true on the bad days!

I used to feel that way too...way scared of aging. I still am a little (or maybe a lot). But then I look at the older people whom I really admire, and I think that if I could just be like them, it would make aging more than worth it. Some things only come with age and experience.
Then, on physical beauty - I have grandmothers who are still lovely, even in their 80s. So if I can still see beauty in them, who is there to say there won't be anyone who will be able to notice at least some beauty in me even when I'm 80? Lol.
But what's most important to me is inside. Can I age and in the process become the kind of person who doesn't need to have my worth rooted in how much attention or love other people shower on me? Because these are the struggles I see in elderly people...how difficult it must be when things start to pass you by just because you can't keep up or your memory fades and...well...you have to relearn the same things each day.
But then, we don't have to wait until we're 80 to be grown up. I guess the hard part, whatever age we are, is living up to the expectations our selves had at the previous age. My 22-year-old self failed my 9-year-old self's expectations in so many ways, she died of heartbreak.
